Kazakhstan Expands Dairy Sector with German Cattle Import
The first batch of German breeding cattle has arrived in Kazakhstan’s Akmola Region as part of a significant expansion in the country's dairy sector. This project involves the construction of a 1,440-head dairy farm and a new milk processing plant. The initiative is led by Burabay Milk LLP and supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, regional administration, private investors, and JSC KOKSHE.
The initial shipment consisted of 165 Holstein heifers delivered via a special charter flight from Germany. The company plans to import a total of around 330 head of breeding cattle to establish a highly productive herd. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the cattle are currently undergoing quarantine and adaptation procedures.
Over the next 30 days, the animals will undergo mandatory health screenings, including tests for particularly dangerous diseases. Further deliveries will be coordinated with regional and district veterinary services to ensure the health and productivity of the herd.
