Kazakhstan and Vietnam plan to increase the volume of mutual trade in agricultural products

At a meeting with Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam NGUYEN HONG Zien, Aidarbek Saparov, Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, said that among the top priorities for joint work is to increase the volume of mutual trade in agricultural products, Dairynews.today reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"As we know, the trade turnover in agricultural products between our countries is small, so I think it is necessary to continue to develop trade and economic ties between our countries, increase and expand the volume of mutual supplies of agricultural products," the head of the Kazakh department explained.
Aidarbek Saparov noted the high export potential of Kazakh meat products, including the Halal standard that recently came to Vietnam. According to the press service, Kazakhstan is also interested in supplying grain, cereals, flour, pasta and confectionery, fruits and vegetables, dairy products and other types of high-quality agricultural products to the Vietnamese market.
For his part, the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam expressed readiness to implement joint projects in the field of animal husbandry, crop production and dairy processing. NGUYEN HONG Zien also invited Aidarbek Saparov to Vietnam to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agro-industrial complex and introduce new joint projects, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
At the meeting between NGUYEN HONG Zien and Kazakh Minister of Trade Arman Shakkaliev, the latter in his speech noted the importance of effective work of the intergovernmental commission in building a constructive dialogue between the two countries. He stressed that mutual trade between the countries demonstrates positive dynamics. Last year was completed with an 85.4% increase in trade turnover.
"A special contribution to the development of bilateral relations was made by the meeting of the Heads of State in August last year, where economic priorities and specific tasks were identified, including increasing bilateral trade turnover to $1.5 billion in the coming years," Arman Shakkaliyev said.
The Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan noted the potential in increasing exports to Vietnam for 35 commodity items worth over $96.9 million, the Kazakh ministry reported.
