Hartington Creamery Triumphs at 2026 International Cheese Awards
Hartington Creamery, based in Derbyshire, UK, celebrated significant success at the 2026 International Cheese & Dairy Awards. The artisan creamery secured multiple accolades, including the prestigious Blue Stilton Champion award. Their Hartington Blue Stilton was not only named the champion but also received the Best Whole Blue Stilton title.
In addition to the Blue Stilton awards, Hartington Creamery achieved a Gold award for their White Stilton and a Silver for their Red Derby. This year's achievements signify a pivotal moment for the creamery, ending a 24-year absence of trophies from the International Cheese & Dairy Awards.
The creamery has a long-standing history with Stilton cheese, with its roots in cheese making dating back over a century. Since its revival, Hartington Creamery has remained committed to preserving local cheese-making traditions, crafting cheese entirely by hand using century-old methods and recipes.
Robert Gosling, managing director of Hartington Creamery, expressed the significance of the awards, stating, "After 24 years without a trophy here, this is an incredibly special moment for our small Derbyshire creamery. It validates the hard work of our makers who refuse to cut corners, keeping the century-old art of traditional, handmade cheesemaking alive."
The team at Hartington Creamery extended their gratitude to their community, acknowledging the support of customers, stockists, and supporters who have championed their cause. Gosling added, "This win belongs to all of us."
The International Cheese & Dairy Awards is supported by industry authorities, including the Stilton Cheese Makers Association, highlighting the significance of Hartington's achievements on the international stage.
