Fortress Technology Unveils Compact Food Inspection Systems at PPMA 2026
Fortress Technology is presenting its latest innovations at the PPMA Show in Birmingham, UK. The highlight of their exhibition is the Raptor Tritek, a 3-in-1 system that integrates metal detection, checkweighing, and label inspection into a single, compact unit. This system is designed to improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), while ensuring food safety compliance through continuous metal detection.
The Raptor Tritek is making its debut at a UK exhibition and is characterized by its easy-clean, small inspection footprint, which makes it suitable for diverse manufacturing environments. Additionally, the system can handle large format applications weighing up to 25kg, thanks to the Big Bag Combination System, which integrates metal detection and case weighing in one unit.
Measuring less than 1.7 meters without its heavy-duty reject conveyor, the Big Bag Combination System can extend to approximately 2.5 meters with the conveyor. This ergonomic system is designed to handle bulky products without slowing down production lines. It represents an efficient alternative to using separate machines for each inspection stage, offering Industry 4.0 connectivity and automated data reporting to streamline quality control and minimize human errors.
Also on display is the standalone Stealth metal detector, which showcases how manufacturers can enhance operational efficiency and productivity during the final packaging stage. This detector can be customized to match specific line heights, widths, and plant configurations.
Jodie Curry, the European commercial manager for Fortress Technology, noted that the industry is shifting towards equipment that supports operator-free running and enhances productivity by moving away from fragmented machinery.
