Findability Sciences has introduced Lacta Insight™, an operational-intelligence product for dairy processors. The platform combines information from multiple plant systems to help identify production losses, process deviations, quality risks and unnecessary energy use.
Findability Sciences launches AI platform for dairy plant efficiency

Findability Sciences has launched Lacta Insight™, a product within its LactaAI™ platform for the dairy industry. The company said the system is intended to support higher yield, more stable production, quality control and lower losses of energy and other resources. It is scheduled to become available in India in September 2026.

Lacta Insight™ gathers information from production, laboratory, quality, maintenance and enterprise applications. It is designed to help plant teams detect developing losses, examine deviations and select responses while manufacturing is in progress, rather than reviewing isolated alarms from separate systems.

India produced 247.87m tonnes of milk in 2024-25 and remains the world’s largest milk producer. Findability Sciences said dairy operations in the country face changing milk composition linked to season, herd and source, as well as variations in equipment performance. Several individually acceptable readings may change together and signal an emerging problem. The company said that losses are sometimes identified only after laboratory checks or reconciliation of yield, when milk solids already lost cannot be recovered.

The product’s functions include detecting developing solids and product losses, identifying possible causes of process deviations and recognising early process drift. It can flag conditions that may affect product specifications and identify avoidable consumption of steam, water and energy. Its decision-support tools provide the evidence and confidence scores associated with recommendations.

According to Anand Mahurkar, Findability Sciences’ founder and chief executive, dairy plants already hold much of the information needed to identify operational losses, but that information is spread across different systems. He said Lacta Insight™ is intended to connect those signals and help teams interpret changes during production.

The platform can connect to existing PLC, SCADA, DCS, ERP, MES, LIMS and process-historian environments. Findability Sciences said processors do not need to replace those systems or add sensors solely to start using the product. The system can run in a plant’s operational-technology environment, keeping production information at the facility. A hosted option is also offered, while customers retain ownership of their process data.

Lacta Insight™ currently supports butter, milk powder, milk-protein concentrate and whey lines. It can be configured for cheese and other dairy processes. A processor may begin with one priority line and later extend deployment to other lines.

Findability Sciences said a major Indian dairy processor is evaluating the product, but has not named the company while the assessment continues. Its implementation process starts with a review of existing plant data and current performance, followed by the definition of operational targets. These can include lower solids losses, better recovery, faster investigations, fewer quality deviations or reduced energy use. The company also offers dairy processors a free 30-minute Dairy AI Readiness Assessment to examine whether their existing data can support a focused deployment.
