Fedeleche Discusses Challenges and Market Dynamics at Director Meeting

On September 23, 2025, the National Federation of Milk Producers (Fedeleche) held its monthly board meeting with representatives from regional guilds such as Aproleche Centro, Linares, Ñuble, Biobío, and Osorno. The aim was to analyze the current sector situation and define strategic lines for the coming months. Among the highlights, the board discussed financing and technical extension, emphasizing the recent national participation in the 6th Meeting of Young Dairy Producers in Costa Rica, which gathered about 220 participants from eight countries. As a result, a committee was established to organize the 7th meeting in Chile, supported by regional guilds.
In terms of market conditions, milk reception in July increased by 9.2%, attributed to producers' commitment and sustained industrial demand, possibly allowing for upward price adjustments in milk. Nonetheless, Fedeleche's president, Marcos Winkler, pointed out that since last August, milk prices have not been updated despite the rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). This lack of adjustment is causing concern among producers, especially in a context of rising costs. The meeting also emphasized ongoing regulatory and competition challenges affecting sector performance, promising to maintain constant monitoring and promote actions to strengthen the dairy chain in Chile.
