Emmi Group's Strategic Acquisitions Drive Growth in the Dairy Sector
Emmi Group, a leading Swiss dairy company, has achieved significant growth in fiscal year 2025, with net sales reaching CHF 4.75 billion, marking a 9.1% year-on-year increase. The company reported an organic growth rate of 4.3%, surpassing its upgraded guidance. Strategic acquisitions have played a crucial role in this growth, contributing 7.9% to the overall increase. Key acquisitions include Mademoiselle Desserts, Verde Campo, Hochstrasser, and The English Cheesecake Company.
The group's EBITDA rose to CHF 492.3 million, with a margin of 10.4%, up from 9.9% in the previous year. Emmi's net profit increased by 3.1% to CHF 227.1 million. The company's growth strategy has focused on expanding in high-growth markets such as Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. While Switzerland and Europe accounted for two-thirds of Emmi's net sales, Latin America emerged as a priority market, with the Americas experiencing the highest organic growth.
Emmi has leveraged its acquisitions to enter new markets and strengthen its presence in existing ones. The acquisition of The English Cheesecake Company and Mademoiselle Desserts has allowed Emmi to expand into the premium desserts segment across Europe. Additionally, the acquisition of Verde Campo in Brazil supports Emmi's growth in high-protein, natural, and functional dairy categories.
The company's product portfolio includes fresh products, cheese, and dairy products, with fresh products constituting 34.4% of sales. Emmi's emphasis on efficiency improvements, such as improved sourcing and acquisition synergies, has led to a reduction in its net debt ratio to 1.79 times EBITDA, down from 2.13.
Innovation remains a key driver of growth for Emmi, with a focus on four fast-growing premium categories: ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee, specialty cheese, premium desserts, and protein-focused innovations. Emmi Caffe Latte, the leading RTD coffee brand in Switzerland, Spain, and Austria, continues to be a significant growth engine.
The company's strategic acquisitions and operational optimizations have positioned Emmi to remain resilient amidst global economic and consumer challenges. With ongoing investments in high-growth spaces and supply chain optimizations, Emmi is poised for continued growth in the dairy sector.
