Elsie Dairy Festival Celebrates Local Community and Economy

The Elsie Dairy Festival began on Friday afternoon in Elsie, Michigan, marking the start of a weekend filled with activities aimed at enhancing local economy and community engagement. The festival, which kicked off at 2 p.m., features carnival rides and local vendors that line Main Street.

Quinn Passmore, the president of the Elsie Dairy Festival, emphasized the importance of the event for local businesses, stating, "A big part of our festival is just bringing revenue and people into the town." He added that many attendees shop at local businesses and visit the gas station, significantly contributing to business generation for the rest of the year.

The festival is a long-standing tradition, eagerly anticipated by families and children in the community. Passmore mentioned, "Since I was a little kid, the festival is something that little kids and families look forward to. It’s the big event where you get to get out, be with your neighbors and people you know."

The festival will continue throughout the weekend, with vendors opening at noon each day. Saturday's schedule includes several highlights such as a live wedding in front of the town's big bull, the Dairy Dash 5K race, and a parade.
