Russia's Dairy Whey Exports to Egypt Exceed 1,000 Tons in the First Four Months of 2025

In the first four months of this year, exports of dairy whey from the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt surpassed 1,000 tons. This figure significantly exceeds the total export volume for the entire year of 2024, when approximately 600 tons were shipped to Egypt — marking the beginning of whey exports to this market, according to DairyNews.today citing Agroexport data.

As of January–April 2025, Egypt ranked fourth among the largest importers of Russian dairy whey in volume terms. The top five importing countries were:

1st place: Belarus, with over 3,000 tons, showing a 1.9-fold increase;

2nd place: China, importing more than 2,000 tons, up 1.4 times;

3rd place: Kazakhstan, with around 1,400 tons, up 1.1 times;

4th place: Egypt, with over 1,000 tons;

5th place: Uzbekistan, purchasing about 600 tons, demonstrating an impressive 9.3-fold growth.
In total, during the first four months of 2025, Russia exported approximately 9,000 tons of dairy whey to international markets — 1.8 times more than in the same period of the previous year.
