E. coli Outbreak Halts Operations at Armenian Dairy Facility
The dairy workshop of DILI LLC, located in Dilijan, Armenia, has been ordered to suspend operations following the detection of E. coli in its products. This action was taken by the Food Safety Inspection Authority of Armenia, as confirmed in a recent press release.
During a routine inspection at the facility in the Tavush region, specialists collected samples of various dairy products for laboratory analysis. Results indicated that several samples did not meet the safety and hygiene standards set by the technical regulations of the Customs Union for milk and dairy products.
Specifically, coliform bacteria were identified in samples of Mozzarella, Burrata, and Gouda cheeses. The sour cream sample also showed discrepancies, not only for coliform bacteria but also for yeast and mold fungi content. Furthermore, peach and strawberry yogurt samples failed to meet the established yeast content requirements.
As a result of these findings, the head of the Inspection Body decided to suspend the production activities of DILI LLC's dairy workshop. The suspension will remain in effect until all identified violations are rectified, ensuring the safety and quality of the products.
This incident underscores the importance of adherence to food safety regulations and the role of routine inspections in maintaining public health standards.
