E. coli Outbreak Expands Due to Contaminated Raw Dairy Products

The outbreak of E. coli linked to raw dairy products from Raw Farm is expanding, according to federal health officials. As of now, nine people in three states have fallen ill, with recent cases reported in California. The products in question include raw milk and cheddar varieties, which were sold nationwide.

More than half of the affected individuals are children under the age of five, and three people have been hospitalized. One individual developed a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure, although no fatalities have been reported. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has initiated an inspection of Raw Farm in response to the outbreak.

Despite the FDA's recommendation to remove the products from shelves, Raw Farm has declined to do so. The FDA's investigation aims to assess the source of contamination and prevent further illnesses. The public is advised to avoid consuming raw dairy products from this source until the situation is resolved.
