Deb Haaland Joins Striking Workers at Creamland Dairy Plant

On September 10, 2025, in Albuquerque, Deb Haaland, a member of the Laguna Pueblo and a candidate for governor of New Mexico, stood in solidarity with the striking workers at Creamland Dairy plant. These workers, part of Teamsters Local 492, are calling for improved wages, benefits, and working conditions.
"New Mexico’s workers are the backbone of our economy and they should be paid fairly. I stand with unions because they build up the middle class and advocate for the healthcare and benefits that people rely on. As Donald Trump continues to weaken the rights of unions and attack our healthcare, unions will be critical to providing support of their members. I am proud to stand with Creamland Dairy workers," Haaland stated.
Throughout her career, Haaland has been a consistent supporter of organized labor. She acknowledges that strong unions are essential for working families to meet basic needs, access healthcare, and secure a stable retirement. During her Congressional tenure, she supported legislation to increase the minimum wage and enhance protections for unionizing workers. As Secretary of the Interior, she facilitated significant investments that created well-paying, union jobs across the United States.
