DCA Market Intelligence launches redesigned commodity analysis platform
DCA Market Intelligence, a Netherlands-based Price Reporting Agency, has introduced a redesigned platform for analysing physical agricultural and food commodity markets. The service brings together benchmark prices and supporting information intended to help users examine the factors associated with price movements.
The company, based in Lelystad, has operated in these markets since 2005 and publishes more than 90 benchmark prices. Its dairy coverage includes 34 independently audited benchmarks aligned with IOSCO principles, covering products including cheese, dairy liquids, milk powders and milk fats.
The platform links those benchmarks with daily analysis, historical market information, production figures and international trade data. Users can compare price changes with developments in supply, demand, production and cross-border commodity flows.
DCA said the service was developed in response to the difficulty of assessing reliability and connections among information from multiple sources as commodity markets generate more data. Tim Vrolijk, the company’s managing director, said the platform brings price information, market data and analysis together so users can move from identifying a market signal to examining it and making decisions.
The redesigned interface allows users to create personalised views of the markets relevant to their organisations and to move between benchmarks, data and analysis. It is available in multiple languages and is intended for professionals across the international food and agricultural value chain, including procurement, trading, sales, market analysis, contracting and risk management.
DCA said the launch provides a basis for adding further functionality, datasets and analytical capabilities in response to market conditions and user feedback. Organisations can currently obtain 14 days of full access, including the benchmark prices, analysis, production and trade data, historical information and analytical tools. The company says payment-card and billing details are not required for the trial.
