Dairy Entrepreneurs from Mato Grosso Explore Innovations in Minas Gerais
From July 14 to 16, a group of dairy entrepreneurs from Mato Grosso participated in the Minas Láctea 2026 mission held in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. The delegation aimed to adopt management practices and technologies proven successful in one of Brazil's major dairy-producing regions. This initiative was organized by Sebrae Mato Grosso in collaboration with Sindilat-MT and Fiemt.
Participants visited various dairy operations, ranging from the artisanal Queijaria La Porta to the large-scale industrial producer Piracanjuba. They also toured the intermediate-sized Laticínio Serra Negra, which closely resembles most of the Mato Grosso dairy businesses. The mission included attending the Minas Láctea fair, a significant event showcasing dairy technology and equipment in Latin America.
Valéria Pires, the State Agro Manager at Sebrae/MT, highlighted the mission's value in exposing entrepreneurs to different production, industrialization, and management processes. Milton Dalmolin, vice-president and commercial director of Coopernova, noted the unique networking opportunities and access to behind-the-scenes industrial information.
Glades Kellen Machado, a technical analyst at Sebrae Mato Grosso, emphasized the importance of pre-industrial organization, technical assistance, performance indicators, and value addition to the final product as recurring themes during the visits.
The knowledge gained from the mission will be integrated into the Good Practices in Livestock Project, a joint effort by Sebrae/MT and The Nature Conservancy, focusing on productivity, environmental sustainability, and economic efficiency for Mato Grosso producers.
