Cooils Dairy to Cease Doorstep Deliveries After 75 Years of Service

Cooils Dairy has announced that it will cease its doorstep milk delivery services early next year, concluding over 75 years of such operations in the southern region of the Isle of Man. The decision comes after extensive discussions, allowing the family business to concentrate more on its farming activities. The dairy stated that continuing retail operations would require significant investment, which influenced their decision to refocus.

Juan Hargraves, a representative of Cooils Dairy, expressed gratitude towards their loyal customers, emphasizing the pride they have felt in delivering fresh, locally produced milk. The dairy has been an active member of the Isle of Man Creamery farmers’ cooperative for many years. Despite bottling its own milk, Cooils Dairy has consistently supplied around 80% of its milk to the Creamery annually.

Starting February 1, 2026, all milk produced by Cooils Dairy will be sent to the Isle of Man Creamery. The Creamery will handle processing, packaging, and distribution as part of its delivery rounds across the island. This transition will affect residential, retail, and catering customers who have relied on Cooils Dairy's services.

The decision to end the deliveries was also motivated by the desire to foster stronger community relationships. Mr. Hargraves noted the cherished experiences and connections built through their delivery services. The final deliveries by Cooils Dairy are scheduled for January 31, 2026, after which the transition to the Creamery's distribution network will be complete.
