Chile consolidates growth: Milk reception increases by 2.8%
In the first half of 2025, Chile's national reception of raw milk reached 1.076.2 million liters, marking a 7.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024, as reported by Fedeleche based on Odepa data. The southern regions, particularly Los Ríos and La Araucanía, showed the most substantial growth with a 13.3% year-on-year increase. The Los Lagos region also reported growth of 6.6%, maintaining its status as the largest contributor to the national volume. However, the Metropolitan Region saw a decrease in reception, dropping by 10% compared to the previous year. This upswing in the dairy sector is attributed to sustained demand from the dairy industry, favorable production conditions in southern regions, and logistical improvements amongst producers. As Chile's dairy sector consolidates this upward trend, it is anticipated to impact national prices, boost regional economies, and enhance international competitiveness.
