Czech company MEGA becomes a partner of AqAltyn 2026
MEGA has been operating for more than 30 years and conducts its own research, design and manufacturing. Its technologies are based on its proprietary RALEX® ion-exchange membranes. In the dairy industry, the company specializes in electrodialysis systems for whey demineralization and the recovery of valuable milk components. These systems process cheese whey and acid whey, whey from mozzarella production, ultrafiltration permeate, mother liquor, and whey protein concentrates and isolates (WPC/WPI). Electrodialysis selectively removes dissolved minerals and charged organic compounds from the feedstock. According to the company, this improves the taste and heat stability of dairy ingredients and enables by-products to be turned into valuable raw materials for infant, sports and medical nutrition.
According to MEGA, more than 100 of its systems are operating in the dairy industry worldwide, processing a combined total of over 7,800 tonnes of concentrated whey per day. The company supports projects at every stage, from laboratory and pilot testing to design, manufacturing, installation and servicing. Beyond the dairy industry, MEGA's membrane technologies are used for wine stabilization, acidity adjustment in juices and ciders, sugar and starch purification, as well as water treatment and wastewater treatment.
