Cargill Strengthens India Leadership with Key Appointments to Drive Growth and Innovation

Ravinder Balain has been appointed as Country President for Cargill in India, while Dheeraj Talreja joins as Vice President and Managing Director, Food South Asia.
Ravinder Balain to Lead India Operations
Balain, who joined Cargill in 2024, will now oversee all of the company’s business operations in India, in addition to continuing his responsibilities as Senior Managing Director for the Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH) business in South Asia.
In his expanded role, he will coordinate strategic initiatives across Cargill’s various enterprises and functions, strengthen stakeholder and government engagement, and advise the company’s global executive team on India’s dynamic market landscape. His focus will include business continuity, operational integration, and long-term market positioning.
Balain will also continue to lead Cargill’s animal nutrition portfolio, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and science-backed nutrition solutions through well-known brands such as Purina, Provimi, and Vetcare.
Dheeraj Talreja to Head Food Business in South Asia
Dheeraj Talreja has been appointed to lead Cargill’s Food South Asia business. With over 20 years of experience in food ingredients, speciality chemicals, and manufacturing across diverse geographies, Talreja will focus on delivering Cargill's strategic goals across the food business in the South Asia region.
His responsibilities include driving innovation, enhancing customer engagement, and ensuring operational excellence aligned with Cargill’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) priorities. He brings expertise from senior leadership roles in companies such as AAK and Huntsman, with a strong track record in business transformation and regional growth.
