Canada Royal Milk Celebrates Opening of Canada's First Infant Formula Manufacturing Facility in Kingston
“Seven years ago, we broke ground in Kingston, beginning a complex and lengthy construction process,” said Chenggang Han, General Manager of Canada Royal Milk. “It’s been quite a journey, and today we are proud to celebrate the establishment of Canada’s first infant formula manufacturing facility.”
The 320,000-square-foot facility currently employs over 160 highly skilled local workers across various roles, including compliance, production, marketing, and engineering. As production increases to meet demand, the workforce is expected to expand further.
Despite delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada Royal Milk is now ramping up production and preparing for the nationwide retail launch of its flagship product, Niuriss infant formula. The company received final approvals from Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in March, leading to the product’s online debut. Canada Royal Milk is in the process of finalizing retail agreements, with store availability expected next month.
The facility is committed to producing high-quality infant formula, using locally sourced Canadian milk free from artificial growth hormones and antibiotics. “Thanks to our dedicated employees and community partners, Canada now boasts the most advanced infant formula facility in North America,” Han stated.
To commemorate the opening, Canada Royal Milk donated $10,000 to the United Way of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington, in addition to a previous donation of 5,000 cans of infant formula valued at $200,000.
