Britannia Industries Strengthens Dairy Division with Leadership Changes
Britannia Industries Ltd has implemented significant changes in its leadership team as part of its strategy to boost growth within its dairy segment. Subhashis Basu has been appointed as the new Chief Business Officer – Dairy, with his role commencing on December 15, 2025. Basu joins Britannia with extensive experience, having previously held leadership roles at Anik Milk Products Pvt. Ltd and Lactalis India.
Basu's track record includes leading the integration of Anik, Tirumala, and Prabhat under a unified strategy at Lactalis India. His experience in scaling organizations and managing multi-brand integrations is expected to benefit Britannia's dairy operations. Basu replaces Abhishek Sinha, who transitions to a newly created position as Chief Sales Transformation Officer.
These leadership changes coincide with Rakshit Hargave's appointment as Britannia's new Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, also effective from mid-December. The restructuring aligns with the company's aim to adapt to the evolving Indian dairy market, which is witnessing increased demand for value-added products.
Industry analysts view these appointments as a strategic response to market dynamics, including fluctuating milk prices and a shift towards sustainable dairy practices. Britannia's stock price rose by approximately 1.5% following the announcement, reflecting investor confidence in the company's strategic direction.
The realignment is expected to enhance Britannia's focus on innovation and expansion of its dairy portfolio, particularly in urban and rural markets. The company's emphasis on modernizing its sales infrastructure is anticipated to further optimize dairy sales, contributing to Britannia's competitive position in India's dairy industry.
