According to the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) survey, a staggering 65% of women expressed anxiety or concern about the surging cost of formula, which has witnessed a 25% increase in just two years.

The report highlights the distressing impact on families, noting that the cheapest formula milk on the market now exceeds the £8.50 weekly voucher that families on benefits can claim. For instance, Aldi's Mamia First Infant Milk, the most economical option, has surged to £9.39, marking a substantial 34% increase over two years. Similarly, Tesco's SMA Little Steps First Infant Milk has risen to £9.75, reflecting an 18% increase over the same period. The cost of Aptamil 1 First Milk has skyrocketed to £14.50, representing a significant 26% surge in just two years.

BPAS's report calls for bold and immediate measures to address this crisis, emphasizing the urgent need to alleviate the financial burden on families facing the escalating costs of essential infant nutrition.
