Bolivian Dairy Producers Face Payment Delays from State Company
The dairy producers in the Méndez region of Bolivia have reported that while 80% of their commercial activities with private companies such as Prolac and PIL are running smoothly, they face ongoing payment delays with the state-owned Empresa Boliviana de Alimentos (EBA). This issue has been a significant point of concern for the producers, who rely on timely payments for their economic stability.
The situation highlights the difference in operational efficiency between private and state-owned enterprises in the Bolivian dairy sector. Despite these challenges, the producers have managed to maintain a stable supply chain with the private companies, ensuring that the majority of their milk production is processed and marketed without significant disruptions.
The delay in payments from EBA has prompted the dairy producers to voice their concerns publicly, seeking resolution and more reliable financial transactions in the future. This situation underscores the critical role of efficient payment systems in maintaining the health of the dairy industry in the region.
