Bettermoo(d) pioneers a dairy-free future

In North America, the decline of dairy milk sales is no longer a surprise to consumers, who now encounter a variety of almond and oat milk options on grocery store shelves. Enter Bettermoo(d), a forward-thinking Vancouver-based company, poised to join these alternatives. After a year-long development process, Bettermoo(d) offers a proprietary blend of herbs and oats, inspired by the diet of cows before industrial agriculture.
The innovative company, led by CEO Nima Bahrami, operates under the slogan, "what a cow eats and a human needs." Their unique approach centers on creating flavors derived from the natural diet of pre-industrial cows. As Bahrami notes, "What they eat really does impact the flavour of the milk, and their environment plays a role. So we wanted to come up with a brand that can bring you that unique flavour and taste without that damage to the environment and the animals themselves."
Bettermoo(d)’s shelf-stable product, Moodrink, is expected to hit the shelves by fall, marking the beginning of its ambitious journey to provide a full range of plant-based dairy alternatives. The company isn’t stopping at milk. They are also in the development stages of products such as Moogurt (yogurt), Buetter (butter), and plant-based cheese, ice cream, and sour cream.
CEO Bahrami, with an MBA from Cardiff University, collaborates with advisers and food scientists to produce these innovative products in Canada. His vision extends beyond the vegan market, aiming to cater to anyone aspiring to change their diet for personal health, environmental conservation, or animal welfare.
