Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, co-founders of the iconic Ben & Jerry's ice cream brand, have teamed up with progressive advocacy group MoveOn to launch a limited-edition ice cream flavor, "Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee," in support of Vice President Kamala Harris.
As part of MoveOn's “Scoop the Vote” tour, the campaign aims to encourage voter turnout in key battleground states ahead of the November 5 election.
The tour will travel to over 20 cities, offering free ice cream and other giveaways while engaging voters through appearances from elected officials, activists, and special guests. MoveOn will help attendees create a voting plan and encourage them to mobilize their friends and family to do the same.
In addition to Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee, the tour will feature a variety of election-themed ice cream flavors, including "Unburdened by What has Vanilla Bean," "Inauguration Celebration Birthday Cake," "Fight For Our Rights Sorbet," and "MoveOn Mobilizer Milk Chocolate." Local scoop shops in each city will collaborate with the initiative to serve up these unique creations.
“You can lick and say you care all you want, but if you’re not going for the big scoop — to get registered and vote — at the end of the day, all you’ve got is some drips down your shirt. Go big. Scoop the vote,” Ben Cohen quipped in a statement, highlighting the importance of voter participation.
While the Kamala Harris-inspired flavor is a product of Cohen’s new venture, "Ben's Best," it operates independently of the Ben & Jerry’s brand.
