Belarus and Myanmar Discuss Meat and Oil Supply Agreements

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, Director of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision, Ivan Smilgin, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation of Myanmar, Ye Tun Win, discussed issues of agricultural cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The Myanmar delegation visited Belarus to study technologies and establish direct business contacts. According to the ministry, mutual trade increased by 2.3 times from January to July 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.

In the first half of the year, Belarus shipped 800 tons of dry dairy products and 500 tons of whey to Myanmar. The Belarusian side purchases rice from Myanmar; in addition, the countries are negotiating the start of seafood supplies.

A separate dialogue concerns the supply of butter, meat products, pasta, and rapeseed oil. Ivan Smilgin stated that Belarus is ready to supply Myanmar with goods at affordable prices and to participate in the design and equipping of modern dairy farms.

The parties discussed the training and retraining of specialists for the agricultural sector. Belarusian representatives spoke about the opportunities for education in the country's universities and internship programs for Myanmar specialists.

During the visit, the Myanmar delegation plans to visit several agro-industrial complex facilities in Belarus. Ye Tun Win noted that the Myanmar side is interested in Belarusian technologies in livestock, milk processing, and agriculture, as well as experience in the rational application of fertilizers and agricultural machinery manufacturing.
