From January to July 2025, Belarus increased its export of dried dairy products to Myanmar fourfold compared to the same period last year, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food following the first meeting of the Belarus-Myanmar Joint Working Group on Agricultural and Food Cooperation held on September 30 at the Ministry.

Shipments to Myanmar include whole and skimmed milk powder, whey powder, butter, and cheeses. The ministry highlighted that these are the first major export batches of Belarusian dried dairy products, and the growth in volumes reflects the successful opening of a new Asian market for Belarusian producers.

"Cooperation between the countries is developing based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2025," the ministry noted. "During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of bilateral interaction: certification of Belarusian meat and dairy products, phytosanitary requirements, and market access conditions in Myanmar, as well as prospects for expanding the export range."

The Belarusian side proposed that Myanmar partners expand the export range and establish supplies of:

  • canned meat products, including baby food,

  • dry infant formulas and condensed milk,

  • flour and pasta products.

Belarus also expressed its readiness to support the development of dairy farming in Myanmar, including the design of farms, supply of equipment, and training of specialists in Belarusian agricultural universities.

The Myanmar delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Thut, praised the quality of Belarusian products and the efficiency of the ministry's work, noting their readiness to further increase mutual trade and develop technological cooperation.
