Belarus Expands Dairy Exports to 69 Countries in 2024

Belarus has seen a notable expansion in its dairy export market, with local processors exporting six million tonnes of milk and dairy products in 2024. This achievement was announced by Belarusian First Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Aleksandr Lomsky during the Dairy Farm international forum in Minsk.
Belarus's capacity to produce livestock products surpasses many of its neighbors, which not only bolsters its food security but also enhances its export potential, maintaining its status as a leading global dairy exporter.
The 2024 export growth was marked by an increase of 11.5% in volume and 17.8% in value, with dairy products comprising 40.3% of total food exports. The export destinations grew from 59 countries in 2023 to 69 in 2024, including new markets such as Algeria, Mexico, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Kenya. Lomsky emphasized the focus on not just market expansion but also product diversification.
Further underscoring the success of the dairy sector, the Dairy Farm forum honored top-performing agricultural organizations and districts with merit badges and honorary diplomas from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
"The forum is a crucial platform for sharing expertise," Lomsky concluded, "offering opportunities to discuss proposals and strategies vital for advancing Belarus's dairy industry."
