Bega Group Invests Over $30 Million in Functional Dairy Expansion

Bega Group is making a strategic move into the functional dairy market with a substantial investment exceeding $30 million. This expansion focuses on high-protein and flavored dairy beverages, targeting both health-conscious and seasonal markets.

The company has introduced a new high-protein range under the Masters Milk brand specifically for the Western Australian market. These products offer 36 grams of protein per 600ml carton and include variants such as Chocolate Protein and Iced Coffee Protein, available in both 600ml and 2L formats.

The Dairy Farmers Protein Smoothie line has been expanded with new Vanilla and Mango flavors. Each 330ml bottle contains 30 grams of protein and additional functional ingredients like prebiotics and electrolytes. Since its launch, this line has sold nearly 5 million bottles.

Additionally, Bega has launched a limited-edition Strawberry Mocha Latte under the Dare Iced Coffee brand. This product combines coffee with chocolate and strawberry flavors, containing 200mg of caffeine per serving, and is aimed at the convenience store market.

These product launches are part of Bega's broader strategy to diversify its offerings within the Australian fast-moving consumer goods sector, emphasizing high-value and convenience-driven dairy products over traditional fluid milk.
