Arla, the global dairy cooperative, reveals a price hike for conventional and organic milk in March 2024, signaling optimism as the sector experiences stability.
Arla has announced a price increase of 0.88p per litre for both conventional and organic milk in the UK for March 2024. Consequently, the manufacturing price will stand at 40.06ppl for conventional milk and 47.38ppl for organic milk.
Paul Savage, the Agriculture Director for Arla UK, expressed satisfaction with the current stability in the sector. He highlighted the positive trend in both conventional and organic markets, providing a welcomed and stable outlook for farmer owners as the industry progresses through the first quarter of 2024.
Arthur Fearnall, Arla Foods amba Board Director, emphasized the global decline in milk supplies, counterbalanced by increases in specific regions. While EU milk supplies are expected to grow due to seasonal increments in the spring, European commodity markets remain stable or experience slight decreases. Fearnall pointed out that global commodity markets have seen recent increases, and retail sales for Arla continue to rise, contributing to the overall stable outlook.
