Argentinian Dairy Exports Poised for Significant Growth
Argentinian dairy exports are on track to reach nearly $2 billion by 2026, driven by a recovery in milk production and robust demand from international markets. According to the Argentinian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Dairy Sector (Apymel), the country has significant export potential, although the domestic market continues to face challenges.
Apymel has highlighted the importance of focusing on international markets to capitalize on the growing demand for dairy products. The organization acknowledges the challenges within the domestic sector, where consumption levels have not yet recovered fully.
In recent years, Argentina has increased its dairy production capacity, which is expected to continue on an upward trend in the coming years. This increase in production is crucial for fulfilling both domestic needs and satisfying the export market, where demand remains strong.
Industry experts note that while the international market offers significant opportunities, the Argentinian dairy sector must address internal issues to ensure sustainable growth. These issues include increasing efficiency in production and addressing market access challenges.
Despite the positive outlook for exports, Apymel warns that domestic consumption remains subdued. The organization calls for strategies to boost local consumption rates to support the industry further.
The projected growth in exports underscores Argentina's potential as a major player in the global dairy market, provided that both production and consumption challenges are addressed effectively.
