Argentina Launches New Ice Cream Inspired by National Football Team

The Asociación de Fabricantes Artesanales de Helados y Afines (AFADHYA) has unveiled a new ice cream flavor named 'Súper Scaloneta', designed to celebrate Argentina's national football team. This updated version builds upon a flavor originally introduced during the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The Súper Scaloneta features the traditional Argentine delicacy, dulce de leche, both in its artisanal and natural forms. Additionally, it includes pieces of cone coated with white and semi-sweet chocolate, providing varied textures and a richer taste experience.

According to Maximiliano Maccarrone, president of AFADHYA, the goal of this new flavor is to sustain the excitement leading up to the 2026 World Cup while promoting artisanal ice cream consumption year-round. He emphasized that this flavor has become a symbol linking two national passions: football and ice cream.

The ice cream is now available in artisanal ice cream parlors across Argentina. This initiative not only ties into the emotional appeal of football but also forms part of a broader strategy to encourage consistent ice cream consumption throughout the year, rather than just in summer months.

AFADHYA's campaign aims to position artisanal ice cream as a staple food item, enhancing its presence in the market all year round. The introduction of this flavor is a step towards achieving this goal, combining tradition with innovation.

The release of Súper Scaloneta highlights the ongoing efforts by the Argentine ice cream industry to innovate and stay relevant, tapping into cultural themes that resonate with consumers.
