The Agricultural Sector Ensured About 25% of Belarus' Exports in 2025
Since July 2024, agriculture has been identified as one of the priorities of state policy. Key indicators include the sector's share in the economy at about 7%, and agricultural organizations using 88% of agricultural land. The industry is viewed not only as a growth driver but also as a factor of social and political stability.
Belarus maintains a high export potential in key segments: meat, milk and dairy products, eggs, and potatoes.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the country fully ensures its own food security and is capable of increasing supplies to foreign markets.
Trade turnover with SCO countries shows steady growth. The Chinese market is of special importance, where the export volume at the end of 2025 amounted to about $9 billion.
Belarus offers SCO partners to:
- develop joint productions,
- enhance scientific and technological cooperation,
- create a unified scientific and technical space.
Promising areas include agricultural machinery, veterinary drugs, seed production, and biosecurity. Special emphasis is placed on digitalization and the creation of joint platforms in the agricultural sector.
