Alpura Dominates Mexican Cheese Market with Quality Oaxaca Offering
In a recent study conducted by the Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor (Profeco), Alpura has been recognized as producing the highest quality Oaxaca cheese available on the Mexican market in 2025. Noted for its nutritional composition, Alpura's Oaxaca cheese boasts a high protein content of approximately 23% and low fat levels of 23%, coupled with a 47% moisture content, devoid of any starch. The investigation included over 40 brands, each evaluated on specific criteria such as a minimum of 21.5% protein, 20% butyric fat, maximum 51% moisture, no starch addition, and labeling compliance with the NMX‑F‑733‑COFOCALEC‑2013 standard. Alpura's offering excelled across these dimensions, outperforming well-known brands like Lala and La Villita. Besides Alpura, Profeco acknowledged other brands meeting the required standards, including Lala, Carranco, Covadonga, and more. These findings underscore the significance of Alpura's Oaxaca cheese as a nutritious choice within the dairy market, characterized by transparent labeling and regulatory support.
