Activia Launches New Big Pot Yogurt Formats to Meet Breakfast Demand
Activia, a brand known for its gut health products, has expanded its product line with the launch of Activia Big Pot Natural and Activia Big Pot Fibre. These new offerings aim to provide consumers with options that integrate easily into their breakfast routines. The breakfast category has shown significant growth, accounting for a 38% increase in yogurt consumption according to IRI data.
The new Big Pots are available in 400g sizes, with Activia Big Pot Natural retailing at £2.25 and made from yogurt and live cultures, including probiotics which aid in lactose digestion. This variant is high in protein and free from added sugars, marking it as Activia’s first plain yogurt in this size.
Activia Big Pot Fibre, priced at £2.50, incorporates added fibre along with yogurt and live cultures. The product is set to be available at Morrisons and Sainsbury’s by mid-September 2026, and at Tesco from October 5, 2026.
Natalie Carnachan, Activia's head of category & commercial planning in the UK & Ireland, noted the increasing consumer preference for health-driven purchases at breakfast, with larger formats becoming more popular for their versatility. These yogurts can be incorporated into various breakfast settings, either enjoyed alone or with additional ingredients.
Niamh Brannelly, head of nutrition and science communication for North Europe, emphasized the importance of fibre in public health, as a significant portion of adults in the UK and Ireland do not consume enough. The new fibre-enhanced yogurt format aims to address this gap, with 40% of consumers prioritizing fibre during breakfast according to Danone's research.
The introduction of these Big Pot variants highlights Activia’s commitment to supporting healthier breakfast habits with a reputable brand backed by extensive scientific research and expertise in gut health.
