Fazenda Passagem Nova, a family operation in Medeiros Neto, changed its production system by standardising field practices and giving closer attention to routine procedures. Technical support from Sebrae Bahia and Senar helped the property identify production bottlenecks and arrange its activities in a more structured way.

The changes included the herd. Genetic improvement was used to raise output per animal and make better use of available resources, while the replacement of animals formed part of the effort to renew the herd. Daily management was monitored more closely as the new system took shape.

Feed and cattle health became part of a regular control routine. The farm also incorporated animal welfare into its operating procedures. The management approach combined genetics with handling, nutrition, animal health and administrative organisation rather than focusing on a single production factor.

Production and management

Daily milk production rose from 120 litres to 1,200 litres. The tenfold increase occurred alongside the introduction of standardised procedures and updated management practices. The new organisation also placed greater emphasis on performance measures and operational efficiency.

According to the account, the farm's aim was not only to increase output but also to maintain consistency in the volume produced. Technical training from Sebrae Bahia and Senar helped convert management knowledge into decisions applied on the property, including work on production bottlenecks, resource use and cost control.

The shift gave the family business a more formal approach to planning and monitoring. The operation moved from treating production mainly as a sequence of daily tasks to using organised routines and strategic decisions. Rosimilia Pereira later won a silver medal in the Rural Producer category at the Sebrae Women Entrepreneurs Award, which brought attention to the experience at Fazenda Passagem Nova. The reported transformation combined management changes, genetic improvement, closer herd controls, training and the reorganisation of farm routines.
