A Brazilian Ranking Identifies Five Leading Dairy Brands in 2026
A 2026 ranking covering more than 400 brands has identified five dairy names with notable positions among Brazilian consumers: Italac, Piracanjuba, Itambé, Elegê and Nestlé. The list records both each brand’s overall placement and its change compared with the previous year.
Italac held sixth place overall. The brand was the most purchased in the dairy category for the tenth consecutive year, according to the ranking. This placed it ahead of the other four dairy brands highlighted in the 2026 results.
Piracanjuba ranked ninth overall, two positions lower than in the previous edition. Despite that change, it remained among the highest-placed dairy names in the classification.
Itambé occupied 11th place. Its position was unchanged from the prior year, leaving the brand neither higher nor lower in the ranking. The result contrasts with the movements recorded by Piracanjuba and the other brands in the group.
Elegê posted the largest upward movement among the five brands. It ranked 33rd overall after advancing five places from the previous year. Nestlé, by contrast, was listed in 40th place, also after a five-place change, but in the opposite direction.
The ranking therefore records five different combinations of position and annual movement: Italac was sixth and retained its decade-long lead in dairy purchases; Piracanjuba was ninth after falling two places; Itambé was 11th without a change; Elegê was 33rd after rising five places; and Nestlé was 40th after falling five places.
The results were produced by eDairyNews using information published by Contlacteos. The publication presents the classification as a 2026 snapshot of the presence of dairy brands in Brazilian households, while the year-on-year comparisons show how the five names moved within the broader ranking.
