A $1.2 Billion Dairy Investment Is Planned for Pennsylvania

A planned dairy-processing campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania, would represent an investment of approximately $1.2 billion. The project is designed to develop and manufacture dairy products with higher protein and less sugar than traditional milk.

The facility is expected to occupy 1.5 million square feet. At full capacity, it would source more than 3 billion pounds of milk each year from Pennsylvania farms, providing a new outlet for the state’s dairy producers. The project is also expected to support more than 900 jobs in the Allentown area.

The company said the site would draw on two decades of dairy expertise. Its planned range includes milk products sold in larger formats for families and high-protein shakes made with real ingredients. The portfolio is intended to address demand for dairy products combining nutrition, convenience and different nutritional profiles.

The campus would focus on value-added dairy rather than only conventional milk processing. The stated product areas include high-protein beverages, nutritional dairy products and convenient formats. Operations connected with the project could include farming, milk collection, transportation, processing, manufacturing and related services.

The investment is expected to connect Pennsylvania’s milk-producing farms with large-scale processing in the state. The planned annual sourcing volume, together with the site’s manufacturing capacity, places local milk supply at the centre of the project. The announcement identified Pennsylvania farmers as key participants in the initiative.

The announcement also acknowledged Governor Josh Shapiro, Senator Dave McCormick, Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, Secretary Rick Siger, Don Cunningham, the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, Lehigh County officials and the state’s dairy farmers. Their involvement was cited in connection with the project’s agricultural and economic-development priorities.
