Carbery Group, alongside Climate KIC, has announced a significant €700K initiative aimed at enhancing climate-neutral technologies on dairy farms in Ireland, primarily to tackle methane emissions. This initiative builds on the success of the Farm Zero C project, expanding methane-reducing technologies across an additional 10 farms in West Cork.
This effort includes cutting-edge manure management and satellite-based biodiversity mapping. It forms part of the broader Deep Demonstration of sustainable food systems launched in 2022, ensuring both environmental impact reduction and economic viability for farmers. Innovative financing models, such as carbon payments and green loans, are under exploration to facilitate the transition for farmers.
