6,700 Litres of Milk to Be Distributed to Food Banks After Sommet de l’Élevage
The fourth “donation chain,” organised by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes branch of SOLAAL, took place at Sommet de l’Élevage in France. Participants passed cartons of milk and other food products along a chain to the Agrica stand before their distribution to food banks.
According to the event report, 6,700 litres of milk and several tonnes of other food products are expected to be distributed after the exhibition, with the participation of the Sodiaal cooperative, Limagrain and the Altitude group. The report does not specify how much of the milk has already reached recipients.
SOLAAL Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes reports that its work has prevented 4,300 tonnes of food from going to waste over five years. The regional branch has 145 donors and helps transfer agricultural products to food aid organisations.
