Yoga-urt Announces First Franchise Location in Granada Hills
Entrepreneurs Andrea Castillo, Jonathan Quiros, and Diego Castillo will lead the Granada Hills shop, offering Yoga-urt’s signature dairy-free yogurt with six rotating flavors made fr om scratch. The shop will feature Yoga-urt’s iconic heart mural painted by Cloe Hakakian.
The grand opening is set for Saturday, August 3, featuring special promotions such as free minis with one topping for the first 50 visitors and two dollars off all birthday cake shakes.
“As a proud Granada Hills resident, I am overjoyed to bring a delicious product to our neighborhood,” said Andrea Castillo. “I feel grateful for the opportunity to offer the Granada Hills community a peaceful and communal space wh ere they can indulge in Yoga-urt’s better-for-you selection of wholesome and authentically crafted soft-serve.”
Founded in 2015 by Melissa Schulman, Yoga-urt launched its franchise concept last year, offering ice creams made from hand-squeezed almonds and cashews infused with probiotics. Flavors include Chocolate Bliss, Strawberry Serenity, Salted Caramel Zen, Beautiful Blueberry, Cookies & Cream, Lavender Blossom, Sweet Greens, and Vanilla Harmony.
Yoga-urt provides its treats in compostable cups, gluten-free cones, ice cream cookie sandwiches, and frozen pies. They also serve coffee from LA’s Groundwork Coffee Co. and tea from The Art of Tea.
The chain’s existing stores are certified as California Green Businesses, using compostable or recyclable paper products. Franchisees are encouraged to follow these eco-friendly practices.
“I’ve always dreamt of having multiple Yoga-urt locations, and franchising is the best way to expand,” said Schulman. “I aim to help like-minded entrepreneurs own their businesses and give people outside Los Angeles the chance to experience our delicious plant-based frozen yogurt treat.”
