Saudi Ministry's Campaign Boosts Local Product Consumption for Sustainable Growth

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: In an ambitious effort to promote sustainable development, the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has underscored the crucial role of locally-sourced products. This initiative aligns with the country's strategic Vision 2030 goal to achieve economic and environmental sustainability.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the ministry's newly launched Environmental Awareness Initiative aims to foster healthy consumer behaviors while promoting the local economy and environmental consciousness. A key focus of the campaign is to encourage the purchase of national products, which are not only high in quality but also adhere to stringent health and environmental standards. Such standards ensure enhanced food safety while safeguarding natural resources.

The ministry highlighted the benefits of choosing local agricultural products, meats, and dairy, noting their high nutritional value. It stressed that opting for these options reduces the carbon footprint associated with imports and transportation, simultaneously supporting local farmers and producers.

Adopting local food consumption also has other positive implications, such as promoting the use of seasonal and regional products.
