Arla Foods has announced a milk price increase for its British farmer suppliers, with prices for both conventional and organic milk rising for November 2024. The cooperative confirmed that, effective November 1, the on-account price for conventional milk will increase by 2.66p per litre, bringing it to 47.65ppl, while organic milk will see a rise of 1.78ppl to 57.64ppl.

The company attributed the price adjustments to rising commodity markets, underpinned by steady demand and robust retail sales. “Global milk supplies are stable. Overall, the outlook is stable,” commented Arla Foods amba board director, Arthur Fearnall.

Arla’s UK agricultural director, Paul Dover, noted the cooperative’s recent autumn roadshows, which provided an opportunity to connect with over 500 farmers across the UK. Arla CEO Peder Tuborgh joined part of the tour, alongside the UK leadership team, fostering discussions on cooperative growth and market trends. “We’d like to thank our members for engaging in cooperatively spirited discussions at the events,” Dover added.

The announcement from Arla follows similar moves by other UK dairy processors. First Milk confirmed an increase of 1.25p per litre, while Muller raised its milk price by 1p per litre for farmer suppliers, with both adjustments also effective from November 1.
