During the second week of President Donald Trump’s new administration, I traveled with a couple of Wisconsin dairy farmers and a dozen of their neighbors and relatives to rural southern Mexico to visit the families of the farmers’ Mexican employees.

I just got back fr om a trade mission to Guatemala, wh ere the diverse landscapes and geography support a growing dairy farming industry throughout the country. Guatemalan organizations like the Asociación de Desarrollo Lácteo de Guatemala (ASODEL) are working to provide local dairy farmers with skills to support domestic growth and sustainability initiatives, creating more resilient dairy value chains.
