Belarus and Egypt have marked a significant increase in their agricultural trade, doubling the trade volume in 2024.

This was achieved through increased Belarusian exports of dairy products and Egyptian imports of fruits, vegetables, melons, and coffee extracts. Key discussions during a recent videoconference, chaired by Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Smilgin and Egypt's Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayyad, centered on further streamlining trade by addressing certification barriers and gaining recognition for Belarusian Halal certificates.
Belarus plans to introduce baby food and agricultural machinery to the Egyptian market, while also exploring joint feed production projects and reinforcing scientific ties in food security. Ivan Smilgin expressed Belarusian companies' eagerness to expand their market presence in Egypt, emphasizing quality, reliability, and long-term partnerships as foundational principles.
