YTO and Sinomach Discuss Advancing Machinery Localization in Kazakhstan
A meeting took place in Kokshetau involving representatives from YTO Group Corporation, Sinomach, Kazrost Engineering Ltd., and AgrotechManagement LLP. The YTO delegation was led by CEO Liu Pei, and Sinomach by Deputy General Director Li Xiaoyu. Participants discussed the next phase of cooperation, including deepening localization, expanding the model range, and developing agricultural machinery production.
The YTO assembly project at Kazrost Engineering started in 2020. Collaboration between YTO Group Corporation, the plant, and YTO's official distributor in Kazakhstan, AgrotechManagement, has been ongoing for six years. Kazrost Engineering produces grain harvesters and assembles tractors of the Chinese brand.
According to project participants, ten models of YTO tractors with power ranging from 40 to 280 horsepower are localized in Kazakhstan. As part of further cooperation, the parties are considering transitioning to more energy-intensive equipment and expanding the variety of manufactured machines. An area of focus is adapting tractors to the country's climatic and operational conditions, considering the practical needs of agricultural producers.
YTO Group Corporation, part of Sinomach, has a history dating back to 1955. The company produces tractors of different power classes, harvesters, diesel engines, and other equipment. According to the manufacturer, YTO products are available in more than 100 countries, and the production capacity includes tens of thousands of tractors annually.
AgrotechManagement reports presence in all 17 regions of Kazakhstan and offers YTO tractors with power from 40 to 280 horsepower. The company also highlights its infrastructure for original spare parts and service support. Discussions focused on engineering staff training, skills development, and machine servicing after delivery to farms.
Participants identified several directions for future work: increasing localization, producing new types of agricultural machinery, expanding the model range, adapting equipment to local conditions, and obtaining feedback from agricultural producers. The production base remains Kazrost Engineering's site in Kokshetau, where YTO tractors are assembled and harvesters are produced.
