New sales insight from Saputo Dairy UK reveals that younger consumers are significantly driving the demand for high protein cheese.

New sales insights have been released by Saputo Dairy UK for its latest NPD Cathedral City High Protein Half Fat Cheddar, showing sales are driven predominantly by younger consumers.
Since launching last September, sales data has shown that Millennial and Gen Z audiences represent 35% of cheese’s volume sales, dramatically surpassing the core range's 10% from the same age groups.
Among the new formats available—block, sliced, grated, and minis—the minis range, designed for on-the-go snacking, has shown exceptional popularity, accounting for 22% of sales despite fewer listings.
Cathedral City's Senior Brand Manager, Abi Armson, calls this a wake-up call for the cheese category, emphasizing the growing obsession of younger consumers with cheese's versatility and protein benefits.
