Westland Milk has solidified its commitment to providing price certainty to its farmer suppliers by pledging to pay them 10 cents above Fonterra's farm gate milk price for the next two seasons.

Richard Wyeth, the chief executive, emphasized that this announcement brings much-needed certainty to their 400 farmer suppliers, addressing any uncertainties that may have arisen regarding payment.
"We've put that to bed," Wyeth stated to Dairy News, referring to previous speculations about payment terms.
Having consistently offered 10 cents above Fonterra's milk price in recent seasons, Westland now extends this arrangement until the 2025-26 season, providing stability for its suppliers.
Meanwhile, amid potential supplier shifts, particularly towards processors like Westland and Fonterra, another major player, Synlait, faces the risk of losing suppliers.
Wyeth clarified that Westland is not actively seeking new suppliers, stating, "But if there are new suppliers interested in supplying Westland, our milk supply team will be happy to talk to them."
