Lay's chips recalled in US due to dairy content
The FDA has assigned the recall a Class I rating, the highest level of danger, which means a potential threat to the health and life of consumers with allergies to dairy products. Consuming these chips can lead to serious allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock.
According to the regulator, only one specific batch of Lay's Classic, which was supplied to two American states, is subject to recall. The manufacturer has already begun to withdraw the product from store shelves, and buyers are advised to check the packaging before consumption.
Against the backdrop of this incident, it became known that PepsiCo is implementing a major investment project in Kazakhstan. In 2026, a plant for the production of snacks, including Lay's chips, is planned to be launched in the Almaty region. Investments in the project amount to $160 million, and the enterprise will become the largest in Central Asia.
