The Federation of Dairy Industry Workers in Uruguay has declared a partial strike on Thursday. The protest will feature a gathering at 10 AM at Plaza Independencia.
Reasons Behind the Protest
On February 19, a march is planned fr om Melo to Montevideo. The federation is protesting against layoffs at Coleme, job suspensions at Calcar, dismissals and closure of units at Lacalis (Parmalat), as well as anti-union repression and restructuring at Claldy.
