Employing approximately 60 individuals, the creamery, owned by Arla Foods, is actively seeking potential buyers for the site while ensuring uninterrupted supply during this evaluation.

Arla Foods, the largest dairy cooperative in the UK with a global presence in 11 countries, is addressing the challenges faced by the speciality cheese market, including the decline in Stilton demand. The cooperative, owned by around 8,492 dairy farmers worldwide, remains committed to sustaining a fair return for its 2,000 UK farmer owners.

Fran Ball, Vice-President of Production, reassured stakeholders that there would be no changes to production, customers, or employees during this uncertain period. Emphasizing support for colleagues through potential changes, the company aims to provide an update on the strategic review by April. Despite market challenges, Arla Foods remains dedicated to delivering its renowned products, including those sold under the brands Arla, Lurpak, and Castello, in over 100 countries.
